Improved Performance with Edge Computing Solutions
The latest embedded computing system, ARES-5310 is an E-mark certified, fanless device that delivers reliable operation in wide temperature applications.
Edge computing is transforming the way that data is handled, processed, and delivered. By bringing the computing and the source of the data together, reliance on centralised services is removed. The advantages of edge computing solutions are faster technology, improved security, and savings on bandwidth.
As a leading supplier of embedded computing solutions, ARBOR Technology has launches ARES-5310. This fanless, wide-temperature design delivers all the advantages of edge computing whilst avoiding dust or moisture ingress. The ACC feature secures all information and data in case of power outages.
Edge Computing for High Performance and Low Power Consumption
Powered by an Intel Apollo Lake-S processor, ARES-5310 edge computing benefits from Intel’s new architecture. This optimises performance whilst minimising power consumption, As a rugged, industrial-grade computing solution, ARES-5310 is operational within temperatures ranging from – 20ºC to 70ºC, and can withstand the demands of harsh environments.
ARES-5310 also comes with both HDMI and VGA outputs to connect multiple monitors. This is one of the reasons that this embedded solution has been selected as the edge computer for ANPR cameras at national highway toll stations in Asia. In this application, APRES-5310 undertakes video analytic algorithms for video streaming and saves bandwidth in automatic number-plate recognition.
Compact Connectivity Ideal for In-vehicle Monitoring
Measuring just 180 x 125 x 70 mm, ARES-5310 is a compact computing solution, yet an on-board 64GB of eMMC storage, two Mini-PCle slots to support additional SIM card modules for enhanced connectivity.
It features versatile I/O interfaces and connectivity, four COM ports (RS-232/422/485), a GbE LAN, two PoE ports, four USB 3.0, and four DI/O. This enables simultaneous real-time inspection, monitoring and surveillance.
This compact connectivity has proved ideal for in-vehicle computing. In Europe, ARES-5310 has been selected as a transportation controller and driverless vehicle monitoring system. Its rich I/O interfaces have been networked to PoE-enabled cameras and GPS. This has enabled vehicle tracking, driver behaviour monitoring, and AI recognition.
The embedded controller’s two SIM card slots offer two types of communication bands, which ensures that vehicles stay networked when they travel across different countries.
E-Mark Certified
ARES-5310 has been thoroughly tested and has achieved E-Mark certification. This indicates low emission levels and no interference with electronic systems. It provides reassurance that this embedded computing solution meets the traffic safety and environmental protection standards of EU directives and EEC regulations.
Versatile Mounting
The new embedded system is compatible with both DIN-rail and wall mounts. The mounting versatility allows ARES-5310 to be mounted to a wall or any other flat surfaces for a variety of applications.
